10 Wrestlers Who Allegedly Got Other Wrestlers FIRED

6. Edge / Matt Hardy

In a roundabout way: it was Edge's actions that caused Matt Hardy to go off online. "Actions" being having it off with Hardy's missus.

Hardy most certainly didn't discourage fans from reacting to Lita in the way that they did, which ultimately led to the trauma of being stigmatised, in front of the toxic male-dominated wrestling audience no less, as a "slut". This characterisation - and it's not as if a wide range of parts were going spare, unless the skimpy costumes in the bloody fancy dress battle royals count - led to her being ordered, under threat of termination, to take part in the infamous live sex celebration angle. So it's not quite as simple as Matt Hardy getting f*cked over, though he did.

It must have sucked, but writing from personal experience of young love going awry, he could have just passive-aggressively updated his MSN Messenger status with Taking Back Sunday lyrics and saved himself and Lita rather a lot of silly bother.

Just blame Edge. It's easier, and overdue, since he got over as a top shagger of a heel.
