10 Wrestlers Who Are In The Wrong Promotion

9. Brian Cage

Has there ever been a list of wrestlers in wrong promotions that hasn’t included Brian Cage? How strange that the Machine has never found his place. Of course, that isn’t true, he was well at home in Lucha Underground and (particularly) Impact Wrestling, but his presence in AEW feels a little awkward.

"Presence."

He hasn’t actually wrestled on AEW Dynamite since the beginning of September 2021.

There has always been a feeling like Brian Cage and WWE are a match made in heaven, but Cage has said on a number of occasions that his own bad experiences in WWE haven’t really left him in any great desire to return.

Brian Cage was at his best in Impact Wrestling, and it would be great to see him return there to climb back to the top of that mountain. Impact has freshened up its roster in the two years since his departure, and a whole heap of fresh matches and new stories are waiting to be told. It remains to be seen whether Cage will return to AEW in any meaningful sort of fashion, so watch this space.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
