10 Wrestlers Who Are The Best At What They Do
8. Eddie Kingston - Realest Guy In The Room
Wrestling is so ridiculously over the top and that's why we love it. From the crazy gimmicks, the wild storylines and the sheer athleticism of the wrestlers themselves. Sure, some people try to be rough and gritty, but we know, under it all, that it's worked.
Try telling that to Eddie Kingston.
The genius of Kingston is he is a phenomenal pro-wrestler because he is so authentic. He doesn't look like a wrestler, he doesn't compete like one. In fact, every match he is in looks like he is fighting for his life, and it's through this legitimacy that he has forged a bond with the AEW fans that now seems unbreakable. I mean, they booed a recently-returned CM Punk when he confronted Kingston.
Considering he's been ensconced in feud with the Jericho Appreciation Society because he hates Sports Entertainment above anything else, Kingston feels more and more like the heart of All Elite Wrestling. Whilst it is headlined by major stars like Jon Moxley and Punk, and the majority of the matches are high flying, well rehearsed spot fests, Kingston grounds the company. He makes the fans feel part of it and he is almost their representative in this bizarre industry.
Imagine someone like Enzo Amore telling Kingston that he was the "realest guy in the room"? He'd get his teeth knocked out.
