10 Wrestlers Who Are Totally Straight Edge

Darby Allin is one of the most promising stars in AEW. In AEW's short time, Cody and other executives have raved about Darby's willingness to go the extra mile for the company to get himself over. He’s quickly made a name for himself with his excellent finisher the Coffin Drop, the short films he’s produced promoting his character, and his skateboarding.

Although Darby doesn’t verbally bring up his straight edge beliefs on television commonly, it’s a major part of his mentality outside the ring. Darby recently appeared on the AEW Unrestricted podcast where he talked about his straight edge lifestyle:

“There’s lots of reasons. But, you know, just growing up and having friends, close friends and family members kind of waste their life on drugs or alcohol? It kind of sucked to see that they couldn’t reach their full potential in life.” They’re sitting around wasting life, blaming it. ‘Oh, I didn’t make it to where I wanted because of alcohol and drugs.’ I was sick of hearing these excuses. So I told myself, a long time ago. If I fail in life? I can’t blame it on alcohol or the drugs, it’s gonna be 100% my fault. I have no one to blame it on except my own self. Since I’ve started with wrestling I haven’t taken a pain pill or anything. I don’t even take aspirin. And that’s a shock to some because of the stuff that I do. All I’d have to credit for it is just stretching and like, you know, icing and just eating, taking care of yourself.”

At an indie event last year there was a controversial moment when a fan threw a can of beer at Darby Allin in the ring, so Darby jumped over the rail and got in his face before security removed the moron. Darby later tweeted, ‘you don't throw beer at a straight edge man.’
