10 Wrestlers Who Benefited Most From WWE Draft 2016
4. Bray Wyatt
Though separated from one of his followers, Braun Strowman, in the Draft, Bray Wyatt’s pathway to main event success has never been clearer.
Fans have decried WWE’s misuse of Wyatt for years. Booked strongly on his debut, particularly throughout The Wyatt Family’s epic rivalry with The Shield, Wyatt fell by the wayside shortly after running afoul of John Cena. Bray and his cultists have been featured prominently throughout their careers, but they rarely get the traction needed to move up the card.
The Wyatt Family’s future might be in the air with Strowman going to Raw, but Bray himself finds AJ Styles as his only competition for the mantle of SmackDown’s top heel. Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar, and de facto heel Roman Reigns are well out of the way, and WWE have no excuse not to push the charismatic cult leader into the title scene.
It’ll be interesting to see what WWE have planned for Wyatt. He and Rowan may enter the tag division, but if they don’t, expect him to finally make some serious waves. John Cena’s career is winding down, and with Randy Orton’s role still to be confirmed upon his return, there’s a strong chance that Bray could renew his old rivalry with WWE Champion Dean Ambrose very, very soon.
