3. Charlotte

The 3rd overall pick in the WWE Draft 2016, Charlotte has come into her own as a dominant Women’s Champion. Her bloodline meant she was always going to be given every opportunity to succeed, but she has grasped it with both hands, and while she may not be as celebrated as Sasha Banks, she has been a strong champion and a solid anchor for WWE’s burgeoning women’s scene.

It’s no surprise that Stephanie McMahon drafted Charlotte so early. It was Stephanie, after all, who ushered-in the “Divas Revolution” in the first place, and personally introduced Charlotte, Banks, and Becky Lynch to the Raw faithful back in July 2015. The message is loud and clear: WWE values women’s wrestling, and while the division’s revival hasn’t been a complete success, the company are completely dedicated to increasing its prominence.

On Raw, Charlotte will likely continue her ongoing feud with Banks until SummerSlam at the very earliest. The Battleground tag team match pitting Charlotte and Dana Brooke against Banks and a mystery partner should leave all participants with plenty momentum to work with, and there’s little to suggest the bad blood will end there and then.

There are a number of fresh possibilities from there. The first Charlotte/Paige feud was an unmitigated disaster, but a strong revival with clear creative direction would go a long way to washing those bitter memories away. Nia Jax, though unrefined, will play a unique role as the division’s monster heel, then there’s Dana, who could yet turn on the Champion down the line.

Already one of the company’s most marketable women, Charlotte is now one of Raw’s biggest stars.
