10 Wrestlers Who Broke Kayfabe In Unusual Ways

1. Becky Lynch On Billions

Guesting on Showtime programme Billions as an imagined rival-turned real life friend of character Wendy Rhoades, Becky Lynch's cameo in the show treat its audience like adults even if the rest of the cast were reduced to behaving like children.

All mouths agape at a staged brawl before doing some criminal re-act-ting to Lynch and Rhodes' post-battle presentation, some of Lynch's otherwise refreshing scripting is undermined by their slack-jawed reception.

It's after dropping the pretence that a fist fight with Rhodes was real that the Raw Women's Champion really gets into the weeds.

"So secret number one, the real kayfabe sh*t. The greatest thing you can do in my game is put someone over to make them look good. In wrestling, we all don't like each other, that part's not for show. I honestly cannot stand some of those women I have to fight, but at the end of the day we're all part of a bigger family and we all do the job for each other. Which is what we call it when we let someone pin us. Because there is nothing more noble than taking a beating and making somebody else look good for the good of the whole goddamn operation. And no, sometimes it doesn't feel good. We all wanna fight, we all wanna win, but when the time is right you shut your mouth and you do the job".

Vince McMahon didn't go as deep under oath in 1989 as 'Big Time Bex' was able to thirty years later. The game really has changed, and not just because she forced it to.
