10 Wrestlers Who Broke The Muta Scale

3. The Undertaker

Eddie Guerrero Bloody Hell
WWE Network

The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar's first Hell In A Cell match was a multi-sensory masterpiece; what it lacked in lunatic bumps and crazed athletic catapulting, it compensated for with disturbing sound design - 'Taker never sounded so human as he did when howling in pain at Lesnar's hand-breaking tactics - and unpleasant, gory, bloodbath visual effects.

As the match lurched towards its final third, Lesnar drilled 'Taker in the head with the ring steps. Before the camera cut away, you could see 'Taker not-so-subtly withdraw the blade from his elbow pad - which made his commitment to the cause all the more impressive. He didn't slash the soft centre of his forehead to fashion a crimson mask; he sliced at the point of impact, opening a hole above his eye. The blood poured from said hole like a deluge - a grotesque flash flood of blood that elevated Lesnar into the grand pantheon of wrestling monsters.

Lesnar was built as this destructive force of nature in 2002; 'Taker sold that premise superbly and literally. He resembled Carrie at the end of it, adding to the horror flick overtones.
