10 Wrestlers Who Butted Heads With WWE Creative (And Won)
8. John Cena
The internet wrestling community is forever accusing John Cena of deliberately keeping the young guys down, but there's really only one concrete piece of evidence we have to support this claim - namely SummerSlam 2010.
Originally booked to lose against the white-hot Nexus, Cena was said to have butted heads with creative just before the show went on air, insisting that he and the rest of Team WWE (but mainly, you suspect, he) should come out on top.
For reasons that we still don't fully understand, they caved to his demands. Big Match John was his side's sole survivor in the seven-on-seven main event, mounting a Superman-style comeback to eliminate both Justin Gabriel and Wade Barrett in the space of 25 seconds.
Edge and Chris Jericho have since gone on record to say that they weren't on board with the decision, and even Cena himself apparently came to regret his actions in retrospect. Couldn't you have had this discussion at the time, lads?
