10 Wrestlers Who Committed Disturbing Crimes

6. Steve Gaterwolf - Child Abuse

As Steve Gaterwolf, Stephen Ketcher was a staple of WWF's early '80s job squad, alongside fellow light staring luminaries Mike Sharpe and Barry Horowitz.

According to Bret Hart, Gaterwolf blew his only shot at the big time after forgetting to do a war dance spot, which had been intended to get his Native American character over.

Aside from a brief teaming with Chief Jay Strongbow, Gaterwolf would never get a second chance at the big time.

Following his less than memorable WWF tenure, Gaterwolf disappeared from television and begin promoting wrestling events on Native American tribal lands in the Southwest.

Eventually drifting into illegal fighting and MMA, Ketcher served two years for aggravated battery in 2001.

However, in 2014, while working as a long haul lorry driver, a warrant was issued for Gaterwolf's arrest, pertaining to seven counts of sexual assault against a child.

Gaterwolf, then 56, was accused of the repeated abuse of a 15-year old daughter of a family friend and turned himself into the authorities.

During his trial, the court heard threatening voice messages left on the girl's phone after she had reported him to the police.

Despite defending himself in court in the third person promo, Gaterwolf was found guilty and sentenced to 16 years in prison.
