A married 23-year old man in 1989, Art Barr, wrestling as Beetlejuice, raped a 19-year old girl after wrestling at a Pacific Northwest Wrestling card.

Under polygraph, Barr admitted that the girl did not consent to sex with him, but insisted that he believed she would have, had they been in a different location.

While constituting rape, Barr worked a plea bargain and was convicted of first-degree sexual assault, fined a mere $1,000 and sentenced to a paltry 180 hours of community service.

Despite being a sex offender, WCW hired Barr in 1990, where he attempted to revive his Beetlejuice gimmick character under the name 'The Juicer'. However, a faxing campaign calling for his firing due to the rape caused WCW to cut him loose in 1991.

A pariah in the US, Barr moved to EMLL in Mexico, where he became an instant sensation as the American Love Machine. Jumping with Konnan to AAA in 1992, Barr would from the legendary tag-team Los Gringos Locos with partner Eddie Guerrero.

In the midst of both WCW and WWE interest in bringing the team to the US, Barr was found dead of a drug induced heart attack in late 1994.

Today, Art Barr, a convicted rapist, is still fondly remembered by his friends.
