It is certainly an interesting image. In 2004, Lucha Underground Champion The Monster Matanza Cueto represented Guam at the Olympics in Athens, finishing 19th out of 22 competitors in the light heavyweight freestyle category. He was also Guam's flag bearer at the games, although I dare say they didn't have too big a team. Still, are you gonna tell Matanzo no?

Of course, it wasn't the murdering face-ripping brother of Dario Cueto competing in Greece, but the man who plays that character in Lucha Underground. Jeff Cobb made the move into professional wrestling five years after the games, but has only really begun to make his mark since arriving at The Temple.

Cobb has since been confirmed for PWG's upcoming Battle of Los Angeles tournament. Here's hoping he has more success in Reseda than he did in Athens.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
