10 Wrestlers Who Completely Changed To Become Main Event Stars

The Change: As the story goes, Vince McMahon wouldn't tell Ted DiBiase about his 'Million Dollar Man' gimmick until Teddy signed on the dotted line and agreed to join the WWF. Once he did, DiBiase went from nuts and bolts pro wrestler to super-arrogant rich man who flaunted his wealth in everyone's faces. The change made him a star.

How It Helped: DiBiase was perfect for the 'Million Dollar Man' gimmick. He already had the tools in-ring, but lacked that killer character that would make fans sit up and take notice. McMahon had the answer there, and Ted was a great fit for his vision.

In the span of a few weeks, DiBiase went from smiling good-guy wrassler to an aloof, sickeningly rich piece of sh*t who later decided to create his own championships belts when buying the WWF Title didn't work. His career was turned upside down by turning heel and accepting McMahon's proposal to become a walking, talking blueprint for what over-the-top villains should be.
