Ol' Shelty B was only released from his WWE deal on 21 September, so it's possible he still has some sort of non-compete clause written in that'd prevent this. Reports on that have varied, which is why Benjamin makes the cut here. He's not the only ex-WWE star to do so, by the way.

Just saying.

Shelton is the kind of veteran who's ideal for promoters seeking a reliable hand who elevates everybody else around him. By all accounts, Benjamin has always been popular backstage and is easy to get along with. He could also easily transition into a producer or agent role eventually, which is defo worth thinking about.

Arguably, TK announcing Shelton's signing to the world at Full Gear could be viewed as a slight let down. Despite being a former Intercontinental and United States Champ, he was never the biggest name in the game for WWE. Some folks out there on Planet Wrestling would get a kick out of it though.
