10 Wrestlers Who Could Be The Jokers In The AEW Owen Hart Tournament
1. John Morrison
John Morrison has fallen off the face of the planet, hasn't he?
He's the exact sort of wrestler that the AEW fandom might have welcomed in, say, late 2019, when the spot-fest was that bit more fashionable and the jump, any jump, had retained its special novelty value. Over time, his value has faded, and multiple generations of wrestlers with a far higher ceiling have impressed in recent months.
To be altogether more fair to Morrison, he was tremendous in the outrageous 2021 Money In The Bank ladder match, wowing the crowd just as much as Ricochet, but the absolute last thing AEW needs another overfamiliar male midcard act who won't exactly come cheap.
Of course, AEW's weird fascination with this exact type of wrestler makes his debut more likely than you'd think.
He isn't in the process of rehabilitating his name on the indie circuit. He's working it, to little in the way of critical acclaim, but he is known to and presumably liked by influential AEW talent having made appearances on Being The Elite in 2019.
Still, this one feels like it's at least two years too late.
