Killian Dain wouldn't be the first Irish wrestler to win WWE's biggest prize; in fact, he would be the third, with the Republic having already opened up a 2-0 lead over their UK counterparts courtesy of Sheamus and (for 24 hours) Finn Bálor.

Having been born in Belfast, however, the former WCPW star would be the first from north of the border, succeeding where fellow countryman Finlay - who didn't start working for Vince McMahon until his 40s - ultimately failed.

The omens are good, too, since big, beefy men with menacing thousand-yard stares are very much in vogue on the main roster. At "only" 6'4", Dain - formerly, Big Damo - doesn't have quite the same presence as Braun Strowman, granted, but he is already making waves as part of SAnitY down on NXT, after an impressive showing in WrestleMania 33's pre-show battle royal.
