10 Wrestlers Who Could Become UK's First WWE Champion
6. Zack Sabre, Jr.
A PWG World Champion for nearly 500 days, Sabre's one brush with WWE late last year yielded only a walk-on role in the inaugural 205 Live tournament, which shows just how much (or how little) the idiosyncratic ring style he practices jives with the one to which mainstream wrestling fans are now accustomed.
Yet WWE clearly see something in the man who has grown into one of the most sought-after independent bookings on the circuit, hence its reported offer of a permanent contract (one that Sabre, feeling he had unfinished business elsewhere, elected to turn down).
Certainly, Vince and co would demand that he tweak (or perhaps even radically shift) his approach, but he wouldn't be the first indie star to be given a Performance Centre makeover and - crucially - neither would he be the first to make the leap from PWG and go on to great success.
