10 Wrestlers Who Could Debut (Or Return) On AEW Collision

6. Miro

Miro, in 2021, legitimately could have carved out a path toward the AEW World title.

As TNT Champion, he played the stereotypical foreign heel champion role as inversed as he could. Rather than playing heavily into the WWE-like mannerisms of literally any foreign champion ever, Miro instead bulldozed challengers. He was authentic in doing so; at a compact six foot and 304-pounds, you honestly believed that 'The Redeemer' could have suitably crushed Dante Martin with his bare hands or snapped Lance Archer in half with the Game Over. It was arguably his career-best work - and then it suffered an abhorrent climax.

Dropping the title to Sammy Guevara was, at the time, a compelling moment for the AEW original. Miro's successor wasn't the issue. His booking post-TNT title was.

He dropped the title on the 30 September 2021 Dynamite and has wrestled a combined seven matches in the twenty months that have followed. Admittedly, chunks of this time have seen Miro both injured and absent while filming CBS' East New York, however, Fightful stated that he'd been fit for a while. If he is indeed ready to return, why hasn't he?

Like Andrade El Idolo, Miro could ostensibly become a top star to propel AEW's impending new show. If Tony Khan wants a new monster heel to domineer the opposition, he's got it sitting in front of him.
