10 Wrestlers Who Could No Longer Perform Their Finisher

9. Seth Rollins

When it comes to finishers in WWE, Seth Freakin’ Rollins has been pretty bloody greedy. Since first appearing in Florida Championship Wrestling, he’s used the Phoenix Splash, a jumping high knee and even the Pedigree. But perhaps his coolest looking finish came when he introduced the notorious Curb Stomp into his arsenal.

Those of you familiar with the movie American History X undoubtedly already understand the negative connotations of the very name given to the move, but to everyone else, it’s just a hellacious looking stamp to the back of an opponent’s head that drives their face straight into the canvas.

After witnessing Rollins discuss the Curb Stomp in a nationally televised interview on mainstream (ie. not WWE) TV, Vince McMahon took an immediate dislike to the move and forced Rollins to come up with something new on the spot to replace it. According to some, McMahon hated how the description of the Curb Stomp came off in the eyes of the mainstream media, claiming such a violent finish did not fit in with PG-era WWE.

Eventually, after getting permission from Triple H to use The Pedigree for a number of months, McMahon lifted his ban on the Rollins’ Curb Stomp, just as long as the commentary team never referred to it that way ever again.
