10 Wrestlers Who Could Win Their First World Title In 2021

7. King Corbin

The only surprise here is that King Corbin is still waiting on his first world championship. WWE is obviously a big fan of the former United States Champion, having kept him around the main event scene ever since his main roster debut at WrestleMania 32. It's easy to forget, but Corbin actually won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in his first main roster match. He might not have won many belts since then, but he has been successful in winning a King of the Ring and a Money in the Bank ladder match. WWE is going to pull the trigger on Corbin eventually.

Will that happen in 2021? WWE logic suggests it will. What price a babyface, say Big E. or Daniel Bryan, dethroning Roman Reigns as WWE Universal Champion only for the dastardly Corbin to swipe the big blue belt from that heroic grasp? That seems like a very WWE thing to do.

It seems especially likely now that King Corbin has a couple of lackeys by his side. The Knights of the Lone Wolf (formerly the Forgotten Sons) deserve a break, and helping Corbin claim the Universal Championship may well be the break they need.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
