10 Wrestlers Who Could Win Their First World Title In 2021

3. Big E.

This is where the Big E. singles push is leading. WWE wasn't going to split up the merchandise-monster that was The New Day to just have them tread water in the middle of the card. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods may still be moving around the RAW tag team division but Big E. is on his way to singles superstardom. There is a marked difference between his recent Intercontinental Championship win and his first capture of the title back in 2013; the company seems to be properly behind him this time.

The former Langston has all the tools to climb the SmackDown mountain and usher in a new era of excitement on the blue brand. Years of working alongside the experienced Kingston has done wonders for Big E., coaxing out confidence and personality that was nowhere to be seen in his formative days on the main roster. The Big E. of 2013 was aimlessly wandering in space, while the 2020 version is focused on what should be an inevitable prize.

Does that mean a Royal Rumble win and a victory over Roman Reigns at WrestleMania? Maybe, maybe. Does he lose the IC title to Jey Uso at some point along the way, mimicking John Cena's ascension to the world title back in 2005. Also maybe, also maybe.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
