10 Wrestlers Who Could Win Their First World Title In 2022

5. Darby Allin

Riddle WWE Title
AEW

Tony Khan isn't daft. AEW's owner knows what he has bubbling away on the undercard, and he knows that workers like Darby Allin have the same "charismatic enigma" magnetism as Jeff Hardy in his prime. Not many wrestlers can boast that, but Darby Allin is surely one of them.

Darby's appeal doesn't come from rousing promos or anything like that. No, he earns support the hard way by putting his body through the wringer, and people appreciate his 'heart on sleeve' approach. It's endearing, and it's why Allin would deserve a reign as AEW World Champion between January-December next year.

Obviously, there's no rush, but Darby could be the surprising new face of All Elite Wrestling in 2022. Although (spoiler alert) another AEW name tops this list, it wouldn't suck to see Allin vs. that guy in a prolonged series of matches. They've already smashed it on pay-per-view once, and they'd do so again with the company's biggest title on the line.
