10 Wrestlers Who Cracked WWE's Secret Code

Though Sami Zayn's decision to re-sign with WWE rather than testing bountiful free agency waters came as a surprise to those who felt that perhaps after close to a decade with the market leaders, the 37-year-old may fancy another go-around as El Generico, it shouldn't have.

Zayn had no good reason to leave WWE because he has figured every aspect of the company out. This is the perfect place for him at this stage in his career. Every week, he gets to play his very over, very entertaining character on television without having to stretch his increasingly broken body beyond its capabilities, getting paid a giant stack of money in the process. He's on television every single week and gets tremendous reactions wherever he goes. On top of this, recent bouts like the Shinsuke Nakamura Intercontinental Title clash show that when the occasion calls for it, Zayn can still raise his in-ring to a high enough level.

Had he left WWE and gone elsewhere, Zayn may have had to rely on more physically intensive ways to get and stay over, dragging his busted, surgically-repaired shoulders through hell. In WWE, he gets to be an entertaining sh*tbag heel without the extra pressure. It's a winning formula for both him and the company.
