10 Wrestlers Who Debuted At The Top
9. The Undertaker
The emergence of The Undertaker character is one of the most memorable debuts in the history of WWE. Originally billed as Kane the Undertaker, Mark Calaway was presented like a big deal from the moment he arrived in the WWF.
Making his on-screen debut at Survivor Series 1990, The Undertaker was unveiled as the mystery partner of Ted DiBiase's Million Dollar Team. Sharing the ring with the likes of DiBiase, Dusty Rhodes, and The Hart Foundation, 'Taker was in good company. The imposing 'Phenom' didn't look out of place amongst the various champions and future Hall of Famers around him.
In fact, 'The Demon of Death Valley' made quite the statement in his inaugural outing on WWF TV, eliminating Koko B. Ware in less than two minutes after the action had begun. 'Taker also eliminated the legendary Dusty Rhodes, before inadvertently eliminating himself by count out.
'The Deadman' would go on a rampage over the year that followed, laying waste to all those that opposed him - including the legendary Jimmy Snuka at WrestleMania VII - and was quickly positioned as believable opposition to the unstoppable Ultimate Warrior.
'Taker would cap off his rookie year by defeating 'The Immortal' Hulk Hogan at Survivor Series 1991, marking his one year anniversary in the WWF with his first WWF Championship.
