In a sign of the complete off the wall insanity of WCW booking at the time, The Giant captured the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in his first official match in WCW. From Hulk Hogan, no less.
However, in another display of WCW being WCW, The Giant did so by disqualification... and not before dual humping Hogan with The Yeti. 1995 WCW, ladies and gentlemen.
Regardless of the bizarre nature of the title win, the fact remained that The Giant was indeed the champ - at least temporarily. The Giant was stripped of the title a week later, luckily without any mummified rutting.
The Giant continued to feud with Hogan for several months going into 1996, until the big man once again set his sights on the strap and regained the gold from Ric Flair. Coincidentally, Hogan would gain a measure of revenge when he defeated The Giant for the WCW Title at Hog Wild that year, with the help of the newly formed nWo.
Similarly, once Wight had switched allegiance to the WWF, the humongous athlete received a similar welcome, debuting in the main event of St Valentine's Day Massacre in February 1999. Manhandling the king of the Attitude Era 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin like he was a small child, Wight made his presence felt in a big way.
