10 Wrestlers Who Deserve A Big Push After WWE Royal Rumble 2020

2. Drew McIntyre

Well, yes. Obviously. Of course. Duh.

Drew McIntyre became a made man in the 2020 Royal Rumble. Eliminating Brock Lesnar by knocking the WWE Champion out of the ring with a concussive Claymore drew one of the night's biggest pops. The self-proclaimed 'Sexy Scotsman' succeeded where 13 others failed, flattening 'The Beast Incarnate' within seconds of entering the ring, setting him up for an immediate post-Rumble feud with Lesnar in the process.

It didn't end there, though. McIntyre went on to win the damn thing. Five more wrestlers (including Roman Reigns at the very end) fell by his hand and now, after finally ascending to within touching distance of the mountaintop, Drew has done it. The long-rumoured "main event push" is his.

WWE's decision to let McIntyre cut loose and start showing more of his infectious personality a few weeks ago was a masterstroke. It made him a big fan favourite heading into the pay-per-view and now, coming out of it, Drew feels like the goddamn man. Him vs. Brock is going to be stellar. WrestleMania 36 may see him slay 'The Beast' in what should be an awesome big boy battle, after which he'll hopefully prosper as the first ever British WWE Champion.
