9. Kevin Nash/Scott Hall

Okay, so technically Kevin Nash and Scott Hall count as two people, not one, but in the later years of their respective careers, they essentially came as a package deal.

After a number of years away taking WCW by storm, Nash and Hall returned under the nWo banner in February 2002—crucially, just a month shy of WrestleMania X8. As two of the biggest names of the ‘90s, and given that they were flanked by a certain Hollywood Hulk Hogan, they could easily have headlined that upcoming ‘Mania. Even the handicap match on the go-home episode of Raw, pitting the nWo against the Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin, could have been awesome if saved for the PPV.

Instead, though, Triple H faced Chris Jericho in the final match of the show, with Nash ultimately playing a bit-part role as he stood by at ringside, watching Austin beat his buddy Hall in a relatively short and underwhelming affair.

Add in the fact that they each spent a number of years with the company beforehand, not to mention that Nash had a world title match at WrestleMania XI bumped in favour of Lawrence Taylor vs. Bam Bam Bigelow, and you’ve got a pretty strong case for Nash and/or Hall deserving at least one WrestleMania main event.
