10 Wrestlers Who Didn't Fit The Belt
8. Vampiro - NWA World Light Heavyweight Championship
Vampiro is perhaps most notable for his time spent wrestling in Mexico, but many may remember him for his time in WCW, where he held the WCW World Tag Team Championships with The Great Muta and had an intense rivalry with fellow face-painter Sting. Currently, Vampiro can be found working for Lucha Underground as a colour commentator.
A macabre competitor, he is seen by many as one of WCW's potential answers to the Undertaker, drenching his victims in 'blood' and even setting Sting on fire at one point. However, he never really managed to make it to the top of the card, and when WCW invaded the WWE in 2001, he decided to go back to wrestling in Mexico instead.
It was a couple of years after this in 2003 that Vampiro won the NWA World Light Heavyweight Championship whilst competing for CMLL. Weighing in at 260lbs during the time of his 450 day reign, he entered the record books as the heaviest ever holder of this championship.
Although there is no definitive rule as to what qualifies as a 'Light-Heavyweight', the general criteria in Mexican wrestling puts this weight class between 203-214lbs. Vampiro clearly didn't come anywhere close to meeting this, there was nothing light about this heavyweight.
However, as will be discussed later, Vampiro's title reign is far from the worst flouting of the weight rule for a wrestling title.
