When you think of multiple personas in the Royal Rumble, it is Mick Foley who will immediately jump to mind.

In 1998, Foley did the seemingly impossible, entering the Royal Rumble match three times as three different characters. Mankind and Cactus Jack came and went pretty quickly, but Dude Love managed to make it all the way down to the final four before being eliminated by Faarooq.

That was as close as Foley ever came to winning the Royal Rumble. The Hardcore Legend took part in five Rumble matches (1997, 1998, 2004, 2008, 2012), two as Mankind, three under his real name, one as Cactus Jack and one as Dude Love. Yeah, the maths don't really add up, but you know exactly why. Foley's last match in WWE was the 2012 Royal Rumble, the night were Socko met the Cobra.

To this list you can add Hardcore Holly (Spark Plugg), Bull Buchanan (B2), Terry Funk (Chainsaw Charlie) and a whole lot more. Anything can happen in the Rumble after all, so maybe this year we will see more schizophrenic behaviour from a WWE superstar?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
