No man has entered the Royal Rumble under as many different names as WWE Hall of Famer, Charles Wright. The former Intercontinental Champion may well be the most infamous example of WWE wanting desperately to get an individual over, and throwing enough sh*t at a wall for some of it stick. At the very least, they had a wall covered in sh*t.

Wright entered the Royal Rumble as Papa Shango, The Supreme Fighting Machine Kama, Kama Mustafa, The Godfather and The Goodfather, five different names and five different personas. Wright entered as a voodoo doctor, a shoot fighter, a black supremacist, a pimp and a PC-obsessed rehabilitated pimp. Outside of a final three appearance as Kama in 1996, he experienced next to no success.

Wright entered the Rumble in 1993 (Papa Shango), 1996 (Kama), 1998 (Kama Mustafa), 1999, 2000, 2002, 2013 (all The Godfather) and 2001 (The Goodfather). On three occasions ('93, '01 and '13) he lasted less than a minute, and three other occasions ('99, '00 ad '02) less than two.

No matter the persona, Charles Wright had a fairly wretched Royal Rumble record.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
