Much like the aforementioned Karlee Perez, Ivelisse Velez is somebody who found great success in Lucha Underground after departing WWE and NXT. In addition to being one third of Lucha Underground’s first ever Trios Champions, Ivelisse similarly impressed in SHIMMER and in multiple stints in Impact Wrestling.

Before being recognised as one of the best female wrestlers in the business, Ivelisse first came onto WWE’s radar back in 2011. It was back then that Ivelisse took part in WWE’s Tough Enough before signing a development deal later that year. From Florida Championship Wrestling through to the infancy of NXT, Ivelisse continued to hone her craft before WWE decided to release her from her contract.

Ivelisse seems to be one of those wrestlers whose career is in limbo right now due to the ongoing contract dispute between Lucha Underground and several performers. Still, her future looks like it might see her return to WWE, with the talented grappler attending a WWE tryout just this past April. Whether anything comes of that, again it seems to rely on how things play out with Lucha Underground.
