10 Wrestlers Who Found Life After Wrestling
9. Shawn Stasiak
Shawn Stasiak (Shawn Emile Stipich) is not a name that casual wrestling fans are going to remember.
The hardcore wrestling community? Well that's a different matter.
Originally signed by the WWE (then WWF) in the late 90s after submitting a tape of himself acting out various vignettes including a trick or treat safety segment, Stasiak didn't last long. He debuted as a boy-toy character named Meat, and when that died out, competed under the Stasiak name. After recording an argument between Steve Blackman and Davey Boy Smith, however, he was soon out of a job.
He bounced back in WCW, but that run was cut short when WWE purchased the competition - which paved the way for his return as part of the Alliance storyline. However, he didn't get much of a push, wound up injured, and eventually asked for his release to pursue other interests.
What were those? Well, a career as a chiropractor. Stasiak holds a certificate in manipulation under anesthesia, and is now Dr. Shawn Stipich (Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine). He also works as a personal fitness trainer, and does motivational speaking as well. Not bad for a guy once known as Meat!
