10 Wrestlers Who Gained Nothing By Being WWE World Champion

Which Belt: WWE Title.

Why They Gained Nothing: Never mind Bray's old, "Anyone but you, Roman" warning. It quickly became, "Anyone but you, Bray" when he won the WWE Title and proceeded to do absolutely nothing beyond losing it in jig time to Randy Orton in a tedious WrestleMania 33 match that stunk up the mid card portion of the show.

"Anyone but you" was presumably what the writers said to Wyatt when doling out top-notch angles.

The promising start he made at Elimination Chamber (beating both AJ Styles and John Cena in the closing stretch made Bray look like the man) was nullified by the Orton match and the lack of any real personalisation for a character so atmospheric. Wyatt, happy to be WWE Champ in reality or not, looked ridiculous with the bling-tastic belt. It appeared to be everything his backwoods cult-leader gimmick would have hated.

Empty threats became the norm with Bray long before he won the title, and they continued during and after his reign. Now, he's been rethought as a creepy children's TV host with an agenda. Hopefully, this works out for Wyatt. If it doesn't, he'll be back in the same hell he was in spring 2017.
