10 Wrestlers Who Gambled On A New Catchphrase

7. Really, Miz?

The Miz is a very good heel precisely because he isn't very good.

He's very charismatic, and grafts his absolute b*llocks off to follow road agent direction and level up to his more skilled and athletic peers, but watch his attempt to sell for Tucker's Lou Thesz press the other week. Because he isn't a woman, or somebody in AEW, he avoided the harsh lens of Twitter's toxic swamp. He didn't get the Dark Order/Shotzi Blackheart treatment, but his work was even worse. He's been a professional for years and years, but he no-sold a routine move, got lost for a moment, and just...left the ring.

But he is a very good heel, and adapted a very annoying pop culture trend into his work a few years back. "Really?" is such an insufferable thing to say to somebody, and his cheese grater-to-the-gooch cadence and smug bastard facial expression really got it over. Christ, just writing about it now makes me want to see somebody smash his face in, but that somebody has to be really good, otherwise it won't be great.

Was it successful?

Yes. Incredibly so.
