10 Wrestlers Who Got Hit With A Car (And WHO DID IT!)

1. Jeff Hardy (By Matt Hardy)

In early-2009, Jeff Hardy was plagued with all sorts of rotten luck.

Having reached the pinnacle of his career and won the WWE Championship after nearly a full year of trying, his celebrations were cut short when he was ran off the road while driving with his girlfriend. Any attempt to address this a week later was parked when he was attacked by his own pyro during a SmackDown taping.

All signs pointed to this being part of Christian's dramatic return to the company. 'Captain Charisma' had seen out his time in TNA, and looked poised to rejoin storyline brother and IRL best mate Edge for the 'Rated-Superstar's shot at Jeff at the upcoming Royal Rumble.

It was pretty good stuff, but because we all went to the trouble of acknowledging that, miserable b*stard Vince McMahon changed his mind. Deeming Plan A (or...C) now too predictable, he instead put older brother Matt in the frame for the misdeeds, booking a bland WrestleMania XXV match between the siblings in the process.

In a final grim coda, Hardy later admitted to waging this war for months before the reveal, including taking kayfabe responsibility for starting the (real) house fire that killed Jeff's pet dog. Their universe was broken long before 2016
