10 Wrestlers Who Got Injured At The Worst Possible Time

1. Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan's "Yes!" chants gained him a rabid fan following in 2012, but when he officially turned face in 2013, he became the most beloved wrestler in WWE. Riding a wave of success, Bryan faced Randy Orton in a no disqualification match on the June 17, 2013 edition of Raw. During the bout, Bryan suffered a neck injury, and the match was stopped. Bryan was reportedly furious backstage, nearly coming to blows with Triple H over the decision to end the bout. He seemed fine, and he continued his ascension, winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship from John Cena at SummerSlam and then feuding with Orton. When that program ended, though, Orton was the champion and Bryan was put into a feud with Bray Wyatt. The Daniel Bryan experiment had ended, as WWE saw it - but the fans refused to let their hero go. They filled arenas with chants for Bryan, booed Royal Rumble winner Batista, and generally hijacked shows. When CM Punk left the company and the WrestleMania XXX card needed to be adjusted, WWE bit the bullet and gave Bryan the best night of his career - he defeated Triple H in the show's opener, then won a triple threat match with Orton and Batista in the main event to capture the title. This time, Bryan was here to stay. His first feud after winning the title was with Kane, but during the program, the champion began to have problems with his right arm. It turned out he needed minor neck surgery, but when his arm strength didn't return, he was forced to relinquish the championship. Once again, Bryan's reign had ended prematurely, and this time, the company was likely to label him as damaged goods. Bryan did return to WWE to capture the Intercontinental Championship, but again, injury led him to vacate the title. Still, nothing matches the letdown of his WWE Title reign - and his main event run - ending how it did.
