6. Buddy Matthews

If you had to pick one wrestler who, in the current era of work rate wrestling, hasn't been given a fair crack at a top run, then Buddy Matthews would be in the conversation.

Matthews, then going by Murphy, was a stalwart of the WWE Cruiserweight Division, and he put on some absolute show stealers when he was reigning as the Cruiserweight Champion. Whilst WWE played fast and loose with the 205lbs limit, Matthews always looked considerably bigger than the rest of the division and didn't look out of place on the main roster alongside the likes of Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins.

When he was released by WWE, the Australian hit the gym and he hit it hard. Absolutely ripping up his physique and piling on the muscle, Matthews re-emerged alongside Malakai Black and Brody King as the third member of the House of Black. Whilst not as scary aesthetically as the other two, Matthews is certainly no slouch when it comes to intimidating his opponents, and his impressive gains haven't hindered his explosive in-ring work.

Unfortunately, apart from the guaranteed bangers he had alongside his House of Black brethren, the former Disciple still hasn't really been given the go ahead to show the world just how big of a star he could be.

Somehow, in 2022, and looking like a million bucks, Matthews still remains wrestling's best kept secret.
