When 2020 began, MVP was quietly winding down his career with a few independent dates. Skip ahead to here in November, and Montel Vontavious Porter has been one of the constant bright spots on the Raw brand over the last six months or more.

Having been a surprise entrant in this year's Royal Rumble, MVP himself has publicly stated how the plan was for him to bring his in-ring career to a close the following night in a bout against Rey Mysterio. From there, the charismatic superstar was to transition to a backstage role for WWE.

With 2020 being, well, 2020, MVP was offered the chance to once more become a permanent fixture of WWE programming. Not just a permanent fixture, but the veteran got himself one more run as the United States Champion and was given the chance to front his own faction with the Hurt Business.

Few have seized the moment in 2020 as much as MVP has, and the Hurt Business founder has found himself in a position that even he himself wouldn't have believed at the turn of the year - and all of this is testament to the ability and reliability of Montel Vontavious Porter.
