10 Wrestlers Who Had Their Best Match Against Shawn Michaels

Before I start this list, let me make something clear - Mick Foley is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, and brought a mystique to the ring that few have been able to emulate to date. However, Foley’s WWF career as Mankind up till his match against Shawn Michaels at In Your House 10: Mind Games had been lacklustre at best. Upon facing Foley, Michaels did what he did best: bring the best out of a performer.

Few could have predicted just how well Foley and Michaels’ styles would mesh. Michaels sold Foley’s power moves in typical ragdoll fashion, and sold his hardcore-based offence with elite facial expressions. The match was a car crash from start to finish, full of high-flying offence from Michaels and basic-yet-effective moves from Foley. Perhaps the only bad thing about this match was it’s DQ finish, but even that brought a welcome hint of attitude-era madness, ending when Vader interfered to attack Michaels, and Undertaker interfered to attack Foley.

If there was anyone that could bring Foley back to superstardom after his relatively poor 1996 stint it was Michaels, and he did it with perfect execution.
