10 Wrestlers Who Had Their Best Runs In WWE
9. Damien Sandow
2015 was a weird year for the WWE. Its next big babyface hope was booed into oblivion at the Royal Rumble, Sting made his in-ring debut only to job to Triple H at Wrestlemania, and for a brief period of time the most over wrestler in the company was the Miz's over-enthusiastic stunt double.
When Damien Sandow failed to cash in his Money in the Bank contract on a one-armed John Cena and was subsequently handed the "impersonator" gimmick that torched Charlie Haas' career it looked like his time in the sun was over. However, Sandow struck gold when he became Damien Mizdow. As the Miz's tag partner/stunt double, Mizdow would impersonate every move the Miz made during a match. The fans took to Damien's absurd commitment to the gimmick and rallied behind him, transforming him into one of WWE's biggest babyfaces. (Check out the monster pop he gets Wrestlemania 31 when he throws the Miz from the ring. Not many wrestlers get that kind of reaction).
After WWE inexplicably screwed up Sandow's post-Mizdow run he would leave the company and re-emerge as Aron Rex/Stevens. And while Aron Stevens had undoubtedly enjoyed some success on the independent circuit (he's the current NWA National Champion at time of writing), it's fair to say he has never managed to reach the heights he did back when Mizdow-mania was running wild.
