10 Wrestlers Who Hated Working Together

5. Triple H & CM Punk

CM Punk’s post-release attack on Ryback was brutal, but it was child’s play compared to the torrent of ill will he hurled at Triple H. It was never likely that Punk, the rabble-rousing anti-authority firebrand would get along with corporate executive Paul Levesque, and so it proved.

It was rumoured that Triple H didn’t care for Punk from the moment the latter first set foot in the company. His unorthodox style and brash persona didn’t mesh with Hunter’s, and if you believe Punk himself, Triple H actively tried to hold him down throughout his career.

The duo feuded for a while, and it’s this storyline that Punk blames for single-handedly destroying his momentum with the company. He and Triple H would regularly cut seething, highly-personal promos on one another that blurred the lines between fantasy and reality, and in the end, The Game took a questionable victory over Punk in their blow-off match.

Furthermore, Punk’s refusal to work with Triple H at WrestleMania XXX was a big deciding factor in his eventual decision to leave the company. The Game himself had suggested the match, and Punk suggested that his adversary was once again attempting to sabotage his career. Punk was sent his walking papers just a few days later, and the rest is history.
