Whether teaming as The Mega Powers or feuding over Miss Elizabeth, Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage had a hell of a ride together in WWE. They’re two era-defining titans who stand among the biggest stars that the sport has ever created, but with gigantic stardom comes gigantic ego, and such was the Mega Powers’ downfall.

Elizabeth was the spark that lit the flame. Her relationship with the Macho Man was always under scrutiny, and there are countless tales of Savage’s mistreatment of her. It has been alleged that Randy was so protective of Elizabeth that he often locked her in the locker-room whenever he wasn’t around.

As Savage’s relationship with Hogan progressed, he grew paranoid that he and Elizabeth were having an affair. The storyline eventually manifested on-screen, but it was far from a work, and their now-legendary “love triangle” angle was built almost entirely on real-life ill will.

If that wasn’t enough, Savage had become incredibly jealous of Hogan’s stardom, aggrieved by his constant claims that he was wrestling’s biggest star. Randy felt overlooked in this regard, and while he and Hogan waged choreographed wars on television, they fought psychological battles backstage.

The duo were fortunately able to bury the hatchet prior to Savage’s passing in 2011, but we should all be thankful for the feud’s finest moment: Savage’s legendary hip-hop diss track “Be A Man", a song so joyous it might just change your life.
