Much like many do with Bobby Roode, we could attempt bargaining. We haven't seen Finn Bálor in the heel role he played so well in New Japan. WWE hasn't explored the Demon alter-ego to its full potential. There are options. Short-term options.
Is there any point in hoping for a short-term fix, when the long-term creative mentality is so utterly broken?
The shiny new toy analogy is often used when describing Vince McMahon's child-like inattentiveness. It's almost certainly literal in the case of Finn Bálor; scouted for years before he took to painting himself, Vince was probably high on the fumes and the potential merch money that came with Demonic action figures. This would explain his incredible sprint to the Universal Championship. Of course, Bálor was seriously injured on the night of SummerSlam '16, promptly sent to both emergency room and the midcard. Bálor has the talent, unseen character work and, given his slight proportions, ingenious visual appeal to reach main event stardom - but it's not going to happen. He is there to provide high spots in multi-mans, essentially.
At this rate, one Sunday soon, Bálor will walk into an arena on a Sunday and forget how to wrestle a singles match.
