10 Wrestlers Who Have Hit The Glass Ceiling In WWE

10 Cesaro

Let's get the most obvious entry out of the way first.

Cesaro is a wonderful, dazzling in-ring performer who, when turned loose, is amongst the attention-grabbing wrestlers in the world. His superhuman strength and boundless creativity will have you off your seat even when he's only given five minutes on Raw. Technically, he's as precise as he is silky. Only Daniel Bryan equals him amongst WWE wrestlers in this department, though even Bryan lacks the effortlessness with which the buttery smooth 'Swiss Superman' operates despite his other genius traits.

Throw Cesaro in the G1 Climax meat grinder and he'd garner as many rave reviews as Kazuchika Okada, Will Ospreay, and Tetsuya Naito. Dave Meltzer would throw a blizzard's worth of snowflakes at him. That workrate-centric, real-sport environment is where he'd break through the glass ceiling; not WWE.

That the former Claudio Castagnoli can't cut a convincing promo or project personality beyond ring generalship is his downfall in this Sports Entertainment world. It doesn't matter how slick or athletic he is, because he fails in too many of the categories Vince McMahon holds dear.
