10 Wrestlers Who Have Never Been Better Than Right Now
2. Will Ospreay
Will Ospreay seems to get better with every passing year. I still remember seeing him in person for WCPW and thinking it was impossible for him to have a better match...he did the next month.
2019 has seen Ospreay reach new heights since committing himself to Japan. When New Japan Pro Wrestling needed some of their roster to step up due to the departures of Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes et al. Ospreay was the guy to do it.
Blistering block performances in 2019's Best of the Super Juniors lead to him winning the tournament in a match of the year contender against Shingo Takagi. This is turn prompted a showdown with Dragon Lee at Dominion, where Ospreay emerged victorious, claiming his third IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.
Undaunted, Ospreay expressed his desire to bridge the gaps between junior heavyweight and heavyweight wrestlers by competing in the G1 Climax. Notable matches with Lance Archer and Kota Ibushi followed, before another show-stealing performance against Kazuchika Okada.
Will Ospreay has gone from being potentially wrestling's next big thing to one of the best wrestlers on the planet today.
