10 Wrestlers Who Have Peaked In 2022
9. Randy Orton
While it may seem a bit foolish to try and argue for 2022 playing host to Randy Orton's finest-ever run in-between the ropes, with The Apex Predator earning multiple World Titles, Royal Rumble wins, and being a part of his fair share of high-profile programmes over the course of his two decades with WWE, similarly to Sheamus, has he ever really been as popular as he is at this current moment in time?
Before his year was frustratingly cut short due to a concerning back injury in May, The Viper had been responsible for some of the loudest and most consistent pops you could find on any wrestling show throughout 2022.
The sheer euphoria that met his numerous explosive hot tags when teaming with RK-Bro partner Matt Riddle all but guaranteed a second run with the red tag straps for the duo in the wake of dropping the belts to The Alpha Academy on January 10's Raw. And the pair's eventually successful pursuit to reclaim the gold remarkably saw Orton get over as a babyface to a level he'd never quite experienced at any point over the prior two decades.
Had "Raaaaandy" not been sidelined half-way through the year, there's a solid chance the former WWE Champion would've collided with Roman Reigns during at least one of the calendar's remaining PLE's. And in a testament to his stellar recent babyface spell alongside Riddle, very few would've likely complained about Orton once again occupying this familiar main event spot.
