10 Wrestlers Who Have Unfinished Business With WWE Right Now

A point to prove.

WWE can be a pretty fickle place to work. One minute you're riding high in the main event, and the next you're getting screamed at backstage by Vince McMahon for telling fans you want a title shot instead of a title match.

In this sort of environment, it's hardly surprising that so many of the company's wrestlers are still waiting to achieve everything they set out to. For some of them, that means winning the world title and writing their name in the history books; for others it's about earning the respect of their peers, or perhaps even the famously hard-to-impress wrestling audience.

Regardless, there are several of them with a massive point to prove and a finite period in which to do it. In many cases, their fate may not even be in their own hands: instead, they're simply beholden to the WWE writers to bless them with a winning storyline, or match them up against opponent who can't fail but to deliver brilliant performances in the ring.

Here are 10 who will likely be hoping they get this sort of luck over the next 12 months.

10. Finn Bálor

If reports late last year are to be believed, Finn Bálor is still struggling to win round Vince McMahon, the chairman of the board having supposedly vetoed his proposed WWE Title challenge at the Royal Rumble out of fears that he wasn't over enough.

This was perhaps the worst possible time that The Demon King could have lost the backing of his boss. Following a show-stealing match with AJ Styles at Tables, Ladders & Chairs, he was beginning to re-establish himself after injury curtailed his brief Universal Championship run in 2016.

His unfinished business, then, is to get himself back in the running for a main event spot by convincing the WWE creative team that he has what it takes to command big crowd reactions and sell tickets up and down the country.

That's easier said than done, but the signs are promising. While some would have preferred that Bálor be moved over to SmackDown in the Superstar Shake-Up, being kept on the A-show - as one of a handful of faces in a sea of heels - might not be such a bad thing in the long run.
