10 Wrestlers Who Knew They Were DOOMED On Day One

8. Lord Tensai

Vignettes for Lord Tensai harkened back to the gimmicky mid-1990s, and that made this writer happy. As undeniably trash as that era could be, it does hold a special place in the hearts of a certain age group. So, some were willing to give Tensai the benefit of the doubt.

Besides, Matt Bloom (who was assuming the gimmick) had been smashing it in Japan. He'd surely return to WWE a much better worker than he was as Albert/A-Train and become a neat addition to the roster, right? Right?! Nah, sadly not.

Tensai's first showing, a match vs. Alex Riley on the post-WrestleMania XXVIII Raw, was rubbish. It was a dated exchange that looked more 1995 WWF Superstars than 2012 WWE Raw, and fans in attendance relentlessly chanted, "ALBERT! ALBERT! ALBERT!" at the dude.

Not even a short winning streak and mini-feud with John Cena could save Tensai from tanking and tumbling down the card towards comedy spots.
