10 Wrestlers Who Lived In The Shadow Of More Famous Relatives
3. Chavo Guerrero, Jr.
Related to: Eddie Guerrero
It's probably a little unfair to say Chavo was never able to step out of his uncle Eddie's shadow. Truth be told, he was never really given the chance. By the time he debuted in WCW in 1996, Eddie was making a name for himself in feuds with Ric Flair and the Four Horseman. Eddie was the "popular" Guerrero in the company, and Chavo was chasing after him.
That's why the majority of Chavo's gimmicks and storylines centered around Eddie in some way or another. In WCW, Eddie acted as Chavo's mentor who tried to get his nephew to adopt his "Lie, Cheat, and Steal" mentality. He also kept Chavo out of the LWO. In WWE, Chavo played second fiddle in Los Guerreros, winning the Tag Team Championships twice in the process.
Even after Eddie passed away, Chavo still found himself in his uncle's shadow. His most popular storyline in WWE remains his controversial alliance with Eddie's widow, Vickie, which centered around Eddie's legacy.
Chavo has achieved a lot in this business, becoming a six-time Cruiserweight Champion, a five-time Tag Champion, and having a decent run as ECW Champion. But all of that comes with the asterisk that he was Eddie Guerrero's nephew.
