10 Wrestlers Who Look Better Now Than In Their Primes
3. Mick Foley
Mick Foley was one of the most beloved stars of the Attitude Era, but even then - when he was in his early to mid-30s - he didn't have an athletic build. The 6'4", 280-pounder could certainly do what was required of him in order to have a great match, but his body type ensured that no matter which persona he was portraying in the ring, he'd be wearing a shirt.
Not surprisingly, when Foley retired and got older, he put on weight. Though he trimmed down when he needed to return (such as his 2004 feud with Randy Orton and his 2009 run in TNA), he spent most of the 21st century over 300 pounds. That, combined with the wear and tear his body suffered during his very physical wrestling career, meant that he was experiencing physical distress.
In late 2015, the then-338 pound Foley decided to make a change. Adopting a healthier diet and taking up DDP Yoga, Foley managed to drop 50 pounds by the time he did a run-in at WrestleMania 32. Foley's new lifestyle and his involvement with WWE continued, and by later in 2016, he had reached the point where he lost 100 pounds.
Though the new, trim Foley won't be returning to the ring (he'll be undergoing hip replacement surgery shortly), his commitment to health remains inspiring.
